Renewables already contribute almost half of the electric power.

According to data from Red Eléctrica de España, analyzed by Almaraz Nuclear Power Plant, gross renewable energy production increased by 30% in the first six months of the current year.

This increase is due in large part to the 74% increase in the production of hydroelectric power, while the sharp decline in conventional energy is due to the detriment of coal production. Likewise, the energy produced by nuclear power plants fell by 10.7% and that of the combined cycle by 8.5%.

Wind energy also experienced an increase of 10.4%, while cogeneration, which allows both thermal and electrical energy, increased by 2.1%.
